What we will not say

A bar of soap is not going to fix your eczema

We make good soap. That is a smaller claim than the industry likes to make and it is the one we can stand behind.

Nothing here is medicated, nothing is clinically proven, and nothing will reverse anything. What these are is properly made, cold-process, with oils we can name a source for, and no fragrance blend hiding behind the word “parfum”. If a dermatologist has told you something, listen to them rather than to us.

How a bar gets made

    Oils weighed cold

    Coconut, castor and shea, weighed to the gram, because soap is chemistry and approximation shows up eight weeks later.

    Poured and cut

    Into a wooden mould, left overnight, then cut by hand into twelve bars. The edges are never identical and we have stopped apologising for it.

  3. 3

    Six weeks on a rack

    Curing. This is the part that cannot be hurried and the reason a batch takes two months to reach the shelf.

    Wrapped and dated

    Every wrapper carries the batch number and the date it was poured, so you know how old what you are holding actually is.

Will this help my eczema?
Probably not, and we are not going to say otherwise. Nothing here is medicated or clinically tested. If a dermatologist has given you something, use that; the gentlest thing we make is the oat and honey bar and it is still just soap.
Why is there no ingredient called "fragrance"?
Because that word, and "parfum", can legally cover about three thousand substances without naming any of them. Where we use an essential oil we name it on the label and on the product page.
How long does a bar last?
Four to six weeks for one person, if it dries between uses. A bar left sitting in water will be gone in under two, which is what the seven-dollar wooden dish is for.
Do you ship?
Across Jamaica, yes, and overseas for orders over fifty dollars. Bars travel well; the oils are glass and we pack them like glass.
Is it tested on animals?
No. It is tested on the two of us, which is both true and the only honest answer a workshop this size can give.
Can I buy wholesale?
Yes, from about forty units, and we would rather talk to you first about lead time. A batch is roughly a hundred bars and it cures for six weeks, so we cannot turn a large order round quickly.
What is the batch number on the wrapper?
The batch and the date it was poured. It tells you how old the bar you are holding actually is, which almost nothing on a shop shelf will.
