Fitzgeralds Body Essentials started in 2016 in a kitchen and moved into a proper workshop on Slipe Road in 2019. There are two of us and we make about nine hundred bars a month, in batches of roughly a hundred.
Every batch is cold-process and cures for six weeks before it goes on the shelf. It is the slowest part of the process and it is not negotiable; a bar sold at three weeks is soft, disappears in a fortnight and is why people think handmade soap does not last.
We publish the full ingredient list on every product, in descending order by weight, with the common name next to the botanical one. Nothing here hides behind the word “parfum”, because that word can legally conceal about three thousand substances.
